Award winner becomes award sponsor

Datawright liked the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards so much, this year they sponsored one.
The Washington firm scooped the technology award at the first time of asking last year.
This year, as well as entering several categories, Datawright is sponsoring the manufacturing category.
Datawright prides itself on being one of the first software companies in the region to assist manufacturers in managing their businesses.
Since the 1970s, Datawright has worked with some of the North East’s leading manufacturers and been an integral part of customers’ success, many gaining prestigious acknowledgements, including the Queen’s award.
With this regional and manufacturing pedigree, Datawright is well suited to sponsor Manufacturer of the Year in the 2011 Echo Portfolio awards.
Commercial director Ian Farrar said “The judges really have their work cut out for this year’s manufacturing award category. Although we work globally, our roots are firmly in the North East and we have experienced first-hand some real hidden gems in the region.
“To implement our ERP software we must first understand our customers’ manufacturing process. You can imagine in our 32 years how many organisations we have visited. A lot of our team come from manufacturing backgrounds and we love nothing more than getting our hands dirty on the shop floor.
“There is some extremely innovative design work taking place and such ingenious product development and diversification, winning this award will be great recognition.
“As winners of last year’s Technology Award, we know what a superb night it will be and we are delighted to sponsor the Manufacturer of the Year category.”
